Frequently Asked Questions

What does Tommy Hilcken Productions do?

We bring people together through comedy, magic, interactive game shows, motivational speaking, and unforgettable live experiences. Whether it’s a company event, school program, family celebration, or conference, the goal is simple: people having a great time together.

How long have you been doing this?

I started Tommy Hilcken Productions in 1989. More than 37 years later, I’m still doing what I love—getting in front of people, making them laugh, getting them involved, and creating experiences they remember.

What types of events do you perform at?

A lot! We work with corporations, schools, preschools, conferences, associations, country clubs, senior groups, private parties, and community organizations.

Do you offer team-building programs?

Absolutely. Our interactive Game Shows are designed to get people involved—not sitting in the back of the room checking their phones.

When morale is low, we raise it up. When morale is high, we keep it there.

Are your game shows really interactive?

Yes! That’s the whole point. People aren’t just watching—they’re playing, laughing, competing, cheering and working together.

And yes… phones down, people up!

Can you customize a program for our group?

Absolutely. I can customize the questions, categories, humor, and even the content around your company, organization, event or theme.

How many people can participate?

Our programs can be adapted for small groups or large audiences. We’ll design the experience around your group size, venue and goals.

Do you travel?

Yes. Tommy Hilcken Productions performs throughout New Jersey, the New York metropolitan area and beyond. I’ve had the privilege of performing for audiences around the country and internationally.

How far in advance should we book?

The sooner the better, especially for popular dates. But always ask! Sometimes I have an opening even when you think it’s too late.

How much do your programs cost?

It depends on the type of event, location, length of the program, audience size and what you need.

Rather than throwing a price at you without knowing anything about your event, give me a call. A five-minute conversation can usually tell us whether we’re a good fit.

Do you provide sound equipment?

For many of our programs, yes. We can discuss the technical requirements when we talk about your event.

Can you be the emcee for our event?

Absolutely. I don’t just grab a microphone and announce what’s next. My job is to keep the energy moving, connect with the audience and make the event feel like an experience.

Do you offer motivational speaking?

Yes. My motivational programs combine stories, humor, audience interaction and practical ideas people can actually use.

My philosophy is pretty simple:

Don’t just give people information. Give them an experience they’ll remember.

What makes Tommy Hilcken Productions different?

I’ve been doing this for more than three decades—and I’ve learned that people don’t remember every word you say or everything that was on the agenda.

They remember how they felt.

That’s what I try to create every time I step in front of an audience.

Do you record your performances?

Generally, no. Many of our corporate, private and school events cannot be recorded because of client privacy and school policies. That’s one reason I rely heavily on live interaction and personal referrals rather than a library of event videos.

How do we get started?

Pick up the phone and give me a call.

Tell me what you’re planning, what you’re trying to accomplish and what kind of people will be in the room. We’ll talk it through and figure out whether Tommy Hilcken Productions is the right fit.

Because sometimes the best event planning starts with a good conversation.

Why should we hire Tommy?

Because I don’t believe your event needs another “program.” It needs an experience.

For more than 37 years, I’ve made a living bringing people together, making them laugh, getting them involved, and helping them have a great time.

That’s what I do. That’s what I’ve always done. And I still love doing it.
