Be Happy Where You Are on the Way to Where You’re Going.

One of the greatest mistakes we make is putting our happiness on layaway.

We tell ourselves, “I’ll be happy when…” When I get the new job. When I lose the weight. When I retire. When life gets easier.

The problem is, there’s always another “when.”

Years ago, someone shared a simple thought with me that has stayed with me ever since:
Be happy where you are on the way to where you’re going.

Those words reminded me that happiness isn’t waiting for us at the finish line.

It’s found in today’s moments—in a good laugh, a kind conversation, a beautiful sunset, or simply being grateful for another day.

I’m still working toward goals. I hope I always will be. But I’ve learned not to postpone joy until I get there. The journey is where life happens.

As I often say, we weren’t put on this earth to be miserable.

We were given today as a gift. Enjoy it. Smile a little more. Laugh a little louder.

Encourage someone who needs it. And remember, no matter where you are on your journey, you can choose happiness today.

Have a wonderful week—and enjoy the trip.
