Be Happy Where You Are on the Way to Where You’re Going.

| One of the greatest mistakes we make is putting our happiness on layaway. We tell ourselves, “I’ll be happy when…” When I get the new job. When I lose the weight. When I retire. When life gets easier. The problem is, there’s always another “when.” Years ago, someone shared a simple thought with me that has stayed with me ever since: Be happy where you are on the way to where you’re going. Those words reminded me that happiness isn’t waiting for us at the finish line. It’s found in today’s moments—in a good laugh, a kind conversation, a beautiful sunset, or simply being grateful for another day. I’m still working toward goals. I hope I always will be. But I’ve learned not to postpone joy until I get there. The journey is where life happens. As I often say, we weren’t put on this earth to be miserable. We were given today as a gift. Enjoy it. Smile a little more. Laugh a little louder. Encourage someone who needs it. And remember, no matter where you are on your journey, you can choose happiness today. Have a wonderful week—and enjoy the trip. Tommy |
